Krakow, Poland

Krakow, Poland.

We're still in the land of Frederic Chopin and Roman Polanski... We arrived Saturday in the historic city of Krakow and what a beautiful city it is... as rich in history as it is in Architecture; we're so lucky to have the opportunity to visit its great sights.

The train to get here was fairly full and like most trains in Poland it was quite old, it was only a 4 hr. journey here from Warsaw. We were able to walk from the station to our hotel which was a real bonus, and we had to walk through a mall to get there... it seemed like we were in a mall in Canada.

We spent yesterday touring the market square, the palace, and some old churches. We decided to make today our hardcore church visiting day because yesterday there was almost continuous services taking place in all of the churches.

Cecilia had her picture taken with the devil outside of the church of St. Mary's, totally blasphemous in my opinion... shame on you Ce!

We have decided to go directly to Prague after Krakow and Ce wanted to do it in comfort this time... (meaning first class) since it's an 8hr journey.

Yesterday our feet were falling off us from the walking we did, but the weather was very cooperative which it makes for a much more enjoyable visit.

Time to start making the din-dins we're having a meat pasta today, Ce is doing the chopping and I'm doing the cooking.

We hope to be able to convert everyone to Catholicism tomorrow.

Until then.

Signing off......

A superb unrenovated building

There are such outstanding buildings on the side streets.

Ce at the back of the Palace, the wall is too high to bunk

Inside the Palace grounds

As close as Ce is going to get to God

Just hanging around before we went for a glass in the afternoon

Intricate paintings on buildings

Outstanding

Ce insisted on this photo

A great shot from Ce, with the Church of St Mary's in
the background... good job I got no droppings from that bird

The spectacular St. Mary's

Why can't we have buildings
like this in Canada

Just hanging around.

A church on every corner

This time Ce crashed a baptism.... jail time is in order

A handsome Polish fellow
